Houston was invigorating!

Our 2018 ASMD Directors Forum convened in Houston, Texas on January 29-31.  We were hosted by Space Center Houston and the NASA Johnson Space Center. We also explored other Houston museums with their leadership teams. Tom Kartrude, Executive Director of the Armand Bayou Nature Center, introduced us to the beauty and ecological importance of bayous. We toured the Houston Museum of Natural Science with Lisa Rebori, Vice President of Collections and Exhibitions, including a look at their new Wiess Energy Hall with developer Paul Bernhard. Lunch and a panel discussion with their whole leadership team including Director Joel Bartsch introduced us to the renovations they made over the past several years to expand exhibition and educational programming spaces. We also explored Texas cuisine and had time for informal conversations with colleagues. The full program is available in the Updates for Members section of this website. We wish you could have joined us.
