We will head to Seattle for the 2022 ASMD Directors Forum (February 1-4, 2022). The Program Committee chaired by Vice Presidents William Harris (Space Center Houston) and Tracy Calogheros (The Exploration Place + Science Centre) and including Host Committee members Julie Stein (Burke Museum), Will Daugherty (Pacific Science Center), and Matt Hayes (Museum of Flight), and ASMD Executive Director Bonnie Styles are putting the finishing touches on the Preliminary Program and it will be released soon. We are very excited to return to our traditional in-person format.
Program components will occur in all three of the host museums, and the meeting will also include special visits to the Amazon Spheres, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Gates Foundation Discovery Center, and Climate Pledge Arena (the first carbon-neutral arena). The conference hotel is the new LEED Gold Hyatt Regency Seattle in the heart of downtown. We have negotiated a room block with a great room rate of $139/night for one or two beds for single or double occupancy.
Plan to travel to Seattle on February 1 and arrive in time for our 6:00 p.m. reception in the Hyatt Regency. You may want to depart in the late afternoon or evening on February 4 or stay on for a few days at the conference rate. The conference rate will be available for three days prior and three days after our meeting. Please remember that the meeting is only open to ASMD members in good standing and directors/CEOS invited by the ASMD president. ASMD members may choose to bring their significant others, and they will be able to participant in social and field trip functions.
