ASMD served as a co-convener for this event for the 13th consecutive year! An ASMD delegation of members advocated for all museums at this event. Executive Director Bonnie Styles met in the offices of senators and representatives who serve on appropriations subcommittees that fund agencies, including IMLS, NEH, NSF, NASA, and NOAA, that provide crucial support for museums and museum programs. She advocated for support for all museums (including science museums), and relayed the importance of science education, scientific collections, and research to society and the planet. We encourage all museums to regularly advocate for support for their programs and the educational and economic benefits that they provide to their communities and the world.
